Maths Club: The club brings to light how mathematical theories are applicable in real, practical life. It helps children understand the apparently complex formulae by breaking them into simpler forms accessible to a novice. The club discusses various mathematicians of the world and their theories, encouraging students to probe the deep recesses of their logical minds. The rigorous discussions materialize into multimedia presentations by the students of the club which are then shared with other students.
YOUTH FOR CHANGE: The club aims to motivate students towards a greater sense of our social responsibility. The club initiates various sensitization drives that focus on issues ranging from environment (judicious use of water, encouraging use of paper bags) to taking care of the menial staff and the senior citizens. Spring Dale Senior School has been privileged to be one of the first schools in Punjab to register with SAVE- School Advocacy and Value Education Programme. This programme aims to educate the students to take care of old people who are deprived of care and support.
EDITORIAL BOARD: Established with an aim to cater to the interests of students with a journalistic bent of mind, the Editorial Board educates the students about the nuances of the Fourth Estate- both in the processes of writing and editing. The Editorial Board maintains a wall newspaper- ‘Dales Weekly’, edits ‘Milestone’- the school newsletter, and promotes reading and writing in English, Hindi and Punjabi languages. Students get an opportunity to test their aptitude for journalism before they take a plunge in the future.
PERFORMING ARTS CLUB: The club is a wonderful platform for students to display their talents in the fields of Theatre, Music and Dance. It improves the students to fully realize their potential as performers by giving them opportunities to touch people’s live through the Performing Arts Social Outreach Program. The students are also shown documentaries based on episodes from around the world. Visits to various Performing Arts related centers; talks with the highlights of the activities.
The Heritage Club : The Heritage Club compromises students who act as the proud and responsible custodians of our heritage- tangible and intangible. The students are sensitized about how our future depends on how well we take care of the legacies. As a result the members of the club have been actively raising voice against the defacement of sites and properties in and around our holy city. Ours is one of the first schools in the nation to have adopted the site of Pul Kanjri, an initiative that CBSE later inculcated into its Heritage Education Programme..
ECHO CLUB: The club is dedicated to the champions of the cause of environment. The students get a firsthand experience of how the young can take care of its future by taking concrete steps today. The club to its credit has initiatives against defacement of property, various tree plantation drives and cleanliness drives. The children have not only been raising their voices to promote a pollution free environment but have also teamed up with various NGOs and the district administration to ensure far reaching results of their efforts.
SPIC MACAY Club: SPIC MACAY Club (Society for the Promotion of Indian Culture, Art and Craft amongst Youth) is an off-shoot of the national movement by the same name. The school has been spreading the SPIC MACAY movement in the Northern region for many years. The club organizes performances by prominent artists from across India and keeps the present generation in touch with its cultural roots. The students showcase enactments and participate in annual State and National Conventions.
Photography Club: The Photography Club gives students concrete opportunities to not only hone their talent but also showcase it through it through various events. The club holds interactions with established photographers from the region thus making students aware of the professional aspects of this field. The students capture numerous important events in the school and outside, participate in competitions, go for heritage walks etc. Children are also taught to use photography as an awareness tool for various issues that strike a chord with them.
QUIZ CLUB:The quiz club caters to that group of students that lives by the dictum that little knowledge is dangerous. The club faculty handpicks the best talent in the field of quizzing to train the for bigger platforms like Limca Quiz, Know UK Quiz, Derek O Brian Quiz, Heritage India Quiz to name a few, Be it the latest happenings around the world or the facts that have defined the world’s existence, the club coached=s the young geniuses to be well informed global citizens ready for all competitions.
LITERARY CLUB: Pen is Mightier than the Sword’- that’s the foundation on which the club has based its vision. From discussing stalwarts of literature to nurturing tomorrow’s literary laureates, the club empowers the students with the power of dialogue. The Literary Club’s members get an opportunity to meet journalists and authors, participate in in-house writing competitions and other literary competitions. A Book Club is on the cards that will expose the children to the essence of great literary masterpieces of our times and encourage them to develop a habit of leisure reading.
ICT and COMPUTER GRAPHICS CLUB: ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Club provides an expertise access to all in the dynamic field of IT. Students get an opportunity to explore the ever-evolving possibilities in the field of IT, all of which get a platform in the shape of IT Utsav which the club organizes annually. The Club has a dedicated division for Computer Graphics where animation oriented students get a chance to give wings to their imagination. The members of the club vent out the beams of innovation by using the software namely Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw, and Adobe Premier Pro etc.
