Mr. Surinder Singh Sandhu Son of freedom fighter late S. Hari Singh, Mr Surinder Singh Sandhu, is the founder of Spring Dale Senior School, which he founded along with his wife late Mrs Davinder Pal Kaur Sandhu and son and daughter-in-law late Dr Shivinder Singh Sandhu and Mrs Manveen Sandhu.Mr Sandhu has a vast experience in the field of education and was honoured by Governor of Punjab for Meritorious Services in the Field of Education, in 1994
Mr Sandhu, who received his early education in a village, graduated from Khalsa College of Higher Education in 1950. A distinguished sportsperson, he was selected in Punjab University Volleyball Team, which won All India University Volleyball Championship. Mr Sandhu, who has traveled to numerous countries of the world, left for Ethiopia along with his wife Mrs Davinder Pal Kaur Sandhu left for Ethiopia in 1953 and joined the Imperial Ministry of Education, Ethiopia.
He served as Head of History Department in Ministry of Education, Government of Ethiopia, Africa, and was elected President of the Indians’ Association of Ethiopia. The family, on its return to India in 1969, founded Spring Dale Senior School, the foundation stone of which was laid by Bhagat Puran Singh, founder of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society.
