Mr. Surinder Singh Sandhu was born on 16th November 1930 in Pakistan. His father Late S. Hari Singh was a freedom fighter. He obtained his early education in a village, migrated from Sindh and joined Khalsa College, Amritsar, for higher education. Mr. Sandhu graduated in 1950. As a student, he was a distinguished sportsman in the Punjab University Volley Ball Team and won All India University Volley Ball Championship.
Mr. Sandhu left for Ethiopia in 1953 and joined the Imperial Ministry of Education Ethiopia, where he served as Head of History Department in Ministry of Education, Govt. of Ethiopia- AFRICA. He was elected President of Indians Association of Ethiopia. Mr Sandhu has travelled widely to numerous countries across the globe.
In 1970-1971 he started Spring Dale School at Amritsar along with his wife.
