He has a vast teaching and work experience spanning over 23 years during which he has taught English to senior secondary students bringing in many innovative ideas to improve the teaching-learning experience.

Convinced that “Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit.” Mr. Sharma has done his bit to promote and preserve the waning heritage of India by spearheading the progress of SPICMACAY across the region for over a decade. He organized mega cultural events all over Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh under Virasat in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 and also hosted several Winter Conventions of SPICMACAY in Punjab in December 2002 and 2004 and North Zone Convention in 2000.
Being personally and regularly in touch with maestros as Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ustad Asad Ali Khan, Ustad Allaudin Khan, Mr Shyam Benegal, Pandit Rajan Sajan Mishra, Late Mr Habib Tanvir and Mr Raghu Rai, reflects his resourcefulness.
Other Engagements
Due to his interest in education and culture, Mr Rajiv Sharma has been a member of organizations as Ramakrishna Mission, Vivekananda Study Circle, Nehru Yuva Kendra and has participated in various National Conventions of SPICMACAY at Pune, Kolkatta, Dehra Dun, New Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Jammu and Ludhiana and organized heritage programmes on the preservation of living heritage of mankind aimed at touching the deeper emotions and values present in human minds in subtle ways.
Considering his vast experience and expertise, he has been selected as a Master Trainer by CBSE for Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and Examination Reforms Implementation. He has attended Trainer of Trainers Programme for Project Citizen by Center for Civic Education, U S Department of Education, attended workshop on Total Quality Management in Education by CII, professional development programme at Harvard Graduate School of Education on Mind, Brain and Education at Harvard University, Cambridge, USA.
He was invited to participate in BESA held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, by the British Council. Mr. Sharma has drafted and designed promotional print material besides having written numerous articles for magazines and print media and his first anthology of poems would be published soon.
