Mr. Surinder Singh Sandhu

Mr Surinder Singh Sandhu, is the revered founder of Spring Dale Senior School, which he constituted along with his wife late Mrs Davinder Pal Kaur Sandhu and son and daughter-in-law late Dr Shivinder Singh Sandhu and Mrs Manveen Sandhu.

He is the son of freedom fighter late S. Hari Singh and received his early education in a village, graduated from Khalsa College of Higher Education in 1950. A distinguished sportsperson, he was selected in Punjab University Volleyball Team, which won All India University Volleyball Championship. He has an extensive experience in the field of education and was honoured by Governor of Punjab for his Meritorious Services in the Field of Education, in the year 1994.

Mr. Sandhu treaded on to his journey of education starting from Ethiopia in 1953 when he moved there with his wife Ms. Davinder Pal Kaur Sandhu and joined the Imperial Ministry of Education. There he served as Head of History Department in Ministry of Education, Government of Ethiopia, Africa and was elected as the President of the Indians’ Association of Ethiopia. Then the family, on its return to India in 1969, founded Spring Dale Senior School, the foundation stone of which was laid by Bhagat Puran Singh, founder of All India Pingalwara Charitable Society.

For Mr. Sandhu, education is a leading out of what is already there in the pupil’s soul and Spring Dale Senior School is the outcome of his unrelenting drive for outstanding learning and achievement. He always seeks to be extraordinary, to be unusual, to be ambitious and the betterment of his students and staff.
